ELIZABETH ANNE (BETTY) JAMES

It is with great sadness we announce that Betty passed away peacefully, in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 22, 2021 at the age of 86.
Betty was predeceased by her mother Alice James, and her sister Mary Kathleen Schnaider. She is survived by her nephew Matt (Yvonne) and niece Lucy. She will also be greatly missed by her great-nieces and nephew, (who were much more like grandchildren) Angela (Chris), Chris (Karen) and Heather (Garett), and great-great-niece and nephews, Tayen, Kallen, Wren, Alexander, and Tessa.
Betty was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She worked for a number of companies through her career and spent the last 22 years of her work life at Ryerson Polytechnic University, first in the Architecture Department and ending as the Events Coordinator in the Community Relations Department, helping to shape and run many convocations along with many other gatherings. She loved travelling, and always treasured her many trips to Florida and to Europe with her girlfriends. She loved her family deeply, moving to Winnipeg after retirement to be with them. She also loved her fur babies, and spent much time spoiling them.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of Golden West Centennial Lodge for the wonderful care they provided for Betty over the past few years.
A private funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society or Diabetes Canada.
