He was born to his predeceased parents, John and Christyne Hrycak on May 5, 1957 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The big hearted brother, left behind his sisters; Maria Sheard (Cathy, predeceased Cindy and Willy), Katie Heart, Anne Henry (Malcolm) and Angie Stokes (John).
Brothers are like glue, they stick together. Throughout his life, Lyle King (Brenda), Gord Wilson (Belinda) and Don Barbeau (Lori) were the brothers to him that stuck through til the end. With them, he enjoyed a life fill of adventure and humour. He will also be missed by family friend Joe Brown.
The comedian he was, could always put a smile on anyone's face with his "dad jokes." He had a passion for his work. Mike left behind the gracious company he loved working for, Princess Auto, where he worked at the National Call Center.
He had a love for Harleys and the outdoors. He loved the feeling of having the wind blow through his hair and the sunshine on his face. He enjoyed his time going to the cabin to ride his golf cart, drive his boat to fish and simply spend time with the people he most loved. Along with being the family man he was, he was also a coach, teacher and a huge influence to anyone who was honoured to meet him. A person with a beautiful soul, kind heart and gentle nature will always be remembered by the many lives he has touched.
Due to COVID, a private funeral service will be held.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)
I had the pleasure of meeting Mike June of 1967, He was 10 at the time and my parents had just brought me home from the hospital. Now with Mike being 10 yrs older ( he always seemed much older then me ) the few things I remember is he always was so nice to us. But the coolest thing ever was when mike called me over the fence on Bedson St. to show me his new Van. Such a cool van with dice in the rear 1/4 windows. That van “ROXY ROLLER” was as cool as Mike! I’m sorry for the Families loss and I will always remember him as Mike my first Neighbour. - Posted by: Keith Place (Neighbour ) on: Mar 05, 2021
Dear Barb, Candace, Chris and family... I had the pleasure of working with Mike at Princess Auto for many years. He was the most patient, resourceful and fun loving person. Always apparent was his love for and his pride in his family. He will truly be missed. - Posted by: Toni (Co-worker) on: Mar 04, 2021
Heartfelt condolences going out to my sister Barb, and their children, Candice & Chris. Words can’t express the sorrow we both feel for you all. We will miss Mike’s banter and his easy going self. Mike always had a smile no matter how things were going. If he seen you not smiling, he would make you smile. The times we camped with all of you out in St. Ambrose, we will always remember. The socials, you were always the light of the party. We will always remember you Mike. We love you and miss you already. You were too young to leave us. - Posted by: Dorothy & Frank Normand (Sister n law) on: Mar 02, 2021
My heart goes out to the family. I have many good memories of Mike. I always enjoyed the talks we had and always had a good laugh. Even some of his silly jokes made me laugh. He will be missed. - Posted by: Irene Turcan (Friend ) on: Feb 28, 2021
Every now and then, there are uniquely special people that are born into our crazy world and everyone who has the privilege of being welcomed into their world is blessed and touched by their gentle soul and loving nature. Mike was one of those people. They are rare and when they are no longer with us, you feel a loss and a deep and sad emptiness. Sadly, I never got to know Mike as well as I would have liked to. But I always felt welcomed by him and his family. Maria and I have very special memories of summer visits and time spent at the Hrycak's cottage at Pelican Bay and happy family cruises on the "party barge" out on the Red River on warm, sunny days. Mike had his battles with his health, but is now at peace and we will always pray for him. - Posted by: "O" Joe - Joe Brown (family friend) on: Feb 28, 2021
No better brother could be had by anyone! I'm looking forward to some redemption billiards when we meet again "So he best have a table reserved" ..Till then he will be sorely missed and thought of daily when his silly jokes don't appear in my inbox ...Our love and sympathy to Barb, Chris, Candy and his extended family. - Posted by: Lyle King ("Brother") on: Feb 28, 2021
Mike and his Family lived down the street from me. They all where very nice people, and very pet friendly as I am. Mike was a quiet guy, but very nice. I wish to extend my condolences to Barb, and Children and the Family. RIP Mike. - Posted by: Tom Hamilton (friend) on: Feb 28, 2021
I had the pleasure to work with Mike in the Princess Auto Call Center for 20 years. There was never a dull moment when Mikey was around. We couldn’t help but smile when we’d hear his one liners. He was always available to help me and the Team assist the customers with any product inquiry. He was very patient when explaining everything and would go over it a second or third time if necessary. He was a great Mentor and I was fortunate enough to cross paths with such an amazing person. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. It’s been a Slice Mike! Later Gator! - Posted by: Estelle Paquette (Co-Worker/Friend ) on: Feb 27, 2021
