AGANETHA (NETTIE) FAST

Aganetha (Nettie) Fast, aged 93, formerly of Kleefeld, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on February 26, 2021 at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital.
She is survived by her husband Harold of 71 years, her children: Sandra, Randy, Mike (Rose), Terri (Larry), Patrick (Laurel), and Cheryl (Norm), 14 grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.
Mom was predecesed by her parents, Peter and Anna Dueck, two sisters, eight brothers, daughter-in-law Judy and grandson Randy Jr.
Mome grew up in the Kleefeld area and attended Gruenfeld School. She was an active member of the Kleefeld EMC Church and was baptized there on the confession of her faith. She and Dad met through the church and were married on June 12, 1949. They enjoyed a long life together, living on a small acreage just outside Kleefeld for over 60 years. Mom's passions were her flowers, gardening, being involved with sewing circles and cradle roll, writing for the Messenger and preparing meals for whomever came visiting.
In 2016, Mom and Dad moved to Bridgepark Manor in Steinbach, but health issues necessitated a move for Dad to the Niverville PCH in 2020. Mom chose to move to Niverville Manor in order to be close to Dad.
As the family has shared memories of Mom, everyone has said how she made sure ach one felt loved and special. She made sure to phone everyone on their birthday, and every grandchild, no matter how old, could not leave a visit without taking something out of the treat box.
Her grandchildren were her treasures and therefore ach one is an honorary pallbearer.
As a family, we want to extend our sincere thank you to the homecare and staff at Bridgepark Manor, Niverville Manor, and to the medical team at Bethesda Hospital. We are so grateful for your amazing care for Mom!
A public come and go viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. A livestreamed private family funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m.
