April 14, 1943 - March 3, 2021

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mom Bonnie, age 77, who left us the morning of March 3 to join the love of her life, our dad, Barry. After a sudden diagnosis of end stage cancer, we are grateful that she is now without pain and at peace.
Bonnie grew up in Tolstoi, Manitoba and was predeceased by her mom Mary, brother John and stepsister Ann.
Left to cherish her memory are her kids, David, Dona, Sharon, Chris and Tammi; grandchildren, Samantha, Hope, Grayson, Kieran and Isabella; sister Lovie, stepbrother Paul (Bev), brother Bob (Gina), aunt Helen, numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews. Bonnie drew the greatest joy from her grandkids and family.
Bonnie believed life began at 40 - she met her beloved husband Barry Hutchings at this time while they were both working for Air Canada and found themselves on the AC bowling team together. Bonnie loved all kinds of sports as both an athlete and as a spectator. She was very active over the years as a baseball player, bowler, curler, and an avid golfer. In recent years, her health unfortunately stopped her participation in sporting activities but she continued to be an armchair fan.
Bonnie loved gardening and took much pride in her roses, peonies, tomatoes and her beautiful manicured yard. We will miss all the gifts of cut flowers and vegetables. Bonnie was always a great cook of healthy food and take home packages of pickled beets, hamburger soup and her awesome cabbage rolls. She appreciated good, fresh food and cake was always something you ate for breakfast the next day after the party!
Bonnie spent many happy years travelling the world including Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. In their retirement, Barry and Bonnie spent their winters together golfing in Palm Springs and spent numerous holidays and Christmas' together in Hawaii.
Bonnie enjoyed the company of many great, lifelong friends. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, her sorority sisters. Neighbours Bob, Laurie and their son Kyle were like family to Bonnie and Barry and we appreciate all their help and kindness over the last several, difficult years.
A special thanks to the caring nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital 5 North, Dr. George and Dr. Joshua and the emergency and palliative departments.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and Bonnie will be laid to rest with Barry.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer months.
If anyone wishes to honour Bonnie's memory, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Alzheimer Society in honour of her husband, our dad and grandfather Barry.

Forever Loved and Remembered.
