WILLIAM DOUGLAS BAIN
1947 - 2021
Doug was a self-made man; his quick wit and charm made him a natural salesman.
In his younger years, Doug was an avid sportsman and took pride in his achievements that included being voted Sports Athlete of the Year and in his freshman year at TecVoc was voted the South Side All Streak. In particular, Doug was passionate about soccer. Doug retired from sports at 19 years old due to a knee injury and shortly after pursued married life with his self-proclaimed "love of his life", Darlene.
Doug was raised in Weston and he was instrumental in organizing the annual Weston Reunion Golf Tournament where he could socialize with "The Weston Boys" back at the Legion to reminisce and have a few cocktails. This was an event Doug looked forward to all year; he will be missed by the guys.
Cremation has taken place. There will not be a service, but if you like, you can raise a glass on March 28, on what would have been Doug's 74th birthday.

Dear Doug you will be sadly missed. You have been such a good friend over the years, always there with an open door and good advice. Always host to a great Grey Cup party wearing your traditional BC black and orange. Our fondest memory is when you gave up your back yard and opened your home to host Ernie's 60th birthday! Rest in peace friend. - Posted by: Monica Burns and Ernie Bodnarchuk (Friends) on: Mar 06, 2021
