ANITA ESTHER BILOUS
Born: July 23, 1937
Date of Passing: March 8, 2021

Anita Esther Bilous (nee Marion) passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, with family by her side, on Monday, March 8, 2021.
Mom was born to Frank and Marie Marion on July 23, 1937, in Ste. Rose du Lac, the eldest of nine children. Mom and Dad were married on July 23, 1955, and they eventually settled in Winnipeg to raise their young family.
Anita was a strong, intelligent person and enjoyed her career as an office administrator. She had an engaging personality and will be fondly remembered for her feistiness and her sense of humour and quick wit. She brought a smile to everyone she met.
Mom was an amazing cook and took great pleasure in hosting family dinners. Whether you were family or not you were always welcomed by her. She also loved gardening and especially looked forward to her spring planting. You could always put a smile on her face with a bouquet of roses.
Anita loved shopping and her outings with the ladies from the Good Neighbours Active Living Centre and we thank them for their friendship with her.
One of the greatest joys of Mom's life was the arrival and pampering of her grandchildren. She could always be counted on to help when needed.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert in 2011. She leaves to mourn her beloved children, Keith (Lori), Donna (Tom), Brenda, Clayton (Vi), Linda and Kevin (Debs). She also leaves 16 wonderful grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, and extended family and friends.
A special thank you to Mom's sisters, Marie, Denise and Madeline, for their love, care and friendship over the years.
The family would like to express our thanks to the Dialysis Team at Health Sciences Centre for Mom's care over the years. A special thank you to the staff on RR6 for their care and compassion during the past few weeks.
Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid a celebration of Anita's life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (Manitoba Possible) or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My condolences to the Bilous Clan (Family Cousins) - So sorry to hear of your loss! I feel and understand - my recent memories are remembering my mom (Maddy) sharing a few stories of the sisters (Auntie Denise, Marie & Anita) visiting and traveling across Canada with each other at different times. All Angels of course... My thoughts and prayers to the family. God Bless. - Posted by: Michael Denis (Family) on: Mar 24, 2021

  • I am also one of the neighbourhood kids who was welcomed into the Bilous household all those years ago. I fondly remember crowding into the living room to listen to 45s on the stereo. Both Anita and Gilbert had an energy and kindness I will never forget. My heartfelt condolences to the Bilous clan. - Posted by: Brenda Boughton (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2021

  • I remember hanging out at the Bilous's place back in the late 70s. Clayton was a good friend and track team mate. Mrs Bilous was always there cooking up something good to eat and she was such a warm and friendly Mom to us when we were there. Small in stature with a big heart and feistiness to match. I loved hanging out there as it felt like home and you always felt welcome. Six kids and a couple of huge St. Bernards but Mrs B took it all in stride. Not sure most Moms today could handle all that but she seemed to do it with ease. I will always remember her and those times with great fondness. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Timothy Sullivan (friend) on: Mar 14, 2021

  • Sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Maurice Joe Zastre (Cousin) on: Mar 13, 2021
