CYNTHIA LILLIAN DESJARLAIS
December 28, 1964 - March 13, 2021
We would like to thank the staff from the hospital and the Giigewigamig Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care. Cynthia asked to give special thanks to her nurse Tammy Smith-Revet for going above and beyond for her and giving her the best care possible during her stays when we could not be there for her ourselves.
Cynthia leaves to mourn, her two sons, Trevor (Lareen), Greg; her grandchildren, Keasten, Dax, Karlyn, Reece and Logan; her siblings, Rosanne (Louis), Lorraine, Marcella (Richard), Vianna, Karen, Eldon (Denise), Farrel, Heather, Bernice, Kenny; Aunty Arlene and Uncle Ernest; special friends, her cousin Loretta and niece Ginger, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In her earlier years, Cynthia worked as waitress at Libau Trading Post and Patricia Beach Chip Stand. She began working for her community of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation casually in housing in 2008 and worked her way up to the housing manager position. She left her job as housing manager in 2020 due to her illness. Mom loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren, enjoy fun times with her cousins, nieces and friends. She enjoyed playing VLT's, reading articles online and sharing with family her UFO stories. She enjoyed laughter, most times at the expense of others and making those around her join in on her crazy humour. There was never a dull moment with her and we are all going to miss her so very much.
Wake services will be held at the Private Tom Chief Memorial Centre beginning (tonight) Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating Clergy Pastor Jacquie Fontaine.
Arrangement Entrusted to:
Rock Fontaine, Funeral Director
