It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille after a courageous battle with COPD.
Lucy was strong in spirit, she was generous, a loving and affectionate mother, and a devoted and conscientious wife. She loved cooking and watching the Jets on TV, and playing with her grandchildren, Ivy, Victoria and Elisabeth. Family came first, and it didn't take much to make her happy - a phone call, a visit, a big hug. Lucy was a very passionate person and always able to see the beauty in the simple things around her.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 43 years, Rick, and her sons, Ryan and Damion.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jeannette and Paul; her brother David, and sister Louise (Ron). She is survived by her sisters, Cecille, Michelle, Diane; her brother Dennis (Wendy), and many nieces and nephews, Wendy, Dusty, Melissa, Chelsea, Chotzy, Dylan, Janel, Ciara, Tylee and Chloe, and also many friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

  • Our hearts goes out to Rick and the entire LaFRENIERE family. You all have had far too much sorrow too early in your lives. Sometimes there is no justice. I once heard that when God goes out to his garden he doesn't necessarily pick the biggest or the ripest of tomatoes, he picks the one that was ready. Nobody knows when our tomato is to be picked but His thought was that Lucy was ready. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Mark & Jo - Posted by: MARK LAFRENIERE (cousin) on: Mar 31, 2021

  • My dearest Lucy /momma was one tough momma that had the heart of gold and shared it with the people whom she’s only loved the most and I was fortunate to be one of them 🙏. Lucy had raised me like one of her own children ❤️ She has guided me through my tough challenges of life and help make me become the strong women I am today, and I will always cherish her and love her forever and ever ...... - Posted by: Tracy Mckay (Ex daughter in law ) on: Mar 27, 2021

  • Lucy was the real deal! She loved big time and was loved big time. I'm now living in BC for decades and out of the blue I called Lucy a couple years ago. To my delight she was home and took the call. She told me any cell numbers that she did not recognize she rarely answered. Yahoo she answered mine! What was also cool is it was Lucy's birthday and I did not know that in advance. We reminisced the days gone by and it was a fantastic call. Now in retrospect I'm super happy I listened to myself and called her and Rick. Rest in peace Lucy. I'll never forget your kindness and generosity you showed me. To the remaining family my sincere condolences and I trust the great memories of Lucy will be your strength moving forward. Rick I don't have your contact info but know I'm thinking of you and would love to chat when you are up to it... - Posted by: Dwight Lobson (Friend) on: Mar 23, 2021
