VERA JOHNSON
Left to mourn are her son Robert John (Annette), daughters, Dianne Lynn and Carol Elaine, and grandsons, Zachary, Andrew and Ian.
Also surviving are her siblings, Raymond (Doreen), Dorothy and Winston (Gail); in-law Paul (Bev); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband W. John; her parents, Bert and Winnie Duncan; and siblings, Douglas and Beatrice.
Vera was born in Steinbach, but at a young age moved to Eriksdale, where she grew up and attended school. After finishing her studies at the Central Normal School in Winnipeg, Vera married John, moved to the family farm in Vogar, and taught until they started their family. In the 1980s, they purchased Vogar General Store, which Vera ran until she retired. The couple spent their retirement years in Eriksdale, during which she showed her creativity through her sewing, knitting and quilting.
Vera was a devoted wife and mother. She was a hardworking businessperson and showed kindness, generosity and warmth to those around her.
Thanks to the staff of the Lundar Personal Care Home for their care and kindness. It was deeply appreciated.
A memorial service will follow.
