JANICE PATRICIA BURKE
October 25, 1960 - March 23, 2021
Jan was predeceased by her loving Mother and Father, Patricia and Brian Burke, who she loved and missed deeply. Jan will be fondly remembered by many friends and all that knew her through Executive Nursing.
Jan was a strong, selfless, caring woman that had a passion to help others. She founded Executive Nursing, later becoming Director, where she devoted herself to helping those in need - even in her final months. Her empathy and passion reached beyond her clients and was felt firsthand by staff and anyone who crossed her path. You were always met with a contagious smile, a hug, a genuine interest in how you were doing and good conversation; to know her was to love her. To those closest to her, Jan was like a second mother; an ever-lending ear, fabulous meals, hours of conversation, sound advice, a confidant and an ability to laugh and forget life during visits.
Jan, you touched the lives of many and loved deeply. You will be sorely missed but we rest easy knowing you're reunited with your parents and Chimo in Heaven.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or any animal shelter of choice.

I was in total shock when I saw that one of my dearest friends had passed and I am still in shock. The last time we spoke, she mentioned she was going for tests, but I didn't expect this. Jan was a very compassionate individual. We had many great adventures, those being shopping, special dinners and especially our time spent out at the lake in Traverse Bay. Every weekend for that summer was a blast. I wish we could go back and re-live those special times. Jan missed her parents greatly and now she is able to join them in their next spirit of life. I know Jan will be looking over all of those special people that were a part of her life. Jan will be sadly missed. I will miss her calls when she calls me by my nickname... mamma.
