Darlene Kupchak-Heiland, 62, of East St. Paul, Manitoba departed on March 30, 2021. Born January 9, 1959 to Basil and Anne Kupchak.
Darlene is survived by her husband Howie; children, Nick (Jade), Kristin (Dave), and Jill (Mike); grandchildren, Lexie, Dylan, Noah, William, Noel, Levi and Lincoln; siblings, Mary, John, Patricia (Jamie), Susan, Danny (Michelle), Robert (Nellie), Sandy (Paul).
Darlene was predeceased by her brother Terry, and her mother and father.
Darlene had many talents, her love of gardening and her love for all children. She became a successful gardener and was a co-founder and eventual Executive Director of Care a Lot Day Care Centre. Her compassion for all animals was also one of her loves. Of the many animals she cared for, Budster Boy was her favourite. They are now rejoined.
Darlene requested a short obituary so out of the utmost respect for her we will keep it that way. For those of you who knew and loved her (and you know who you are) she wanted you to remember her as the vibrant force of nature that she was.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to D'Arcys Arc Animal Rescue Centre.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date as per her wishes.

  • Darlene was extremely loving of children and full of compassion. She was generous with me, allowing me to grow vegetables on her land. She babysat me as a child, and was the first to ever give me borscht. When I moved in with Pat and Rolly when I was a small boy, she and Howie lived in the same house and I remember when they had the twins. Darlene was one of the hardest workers I knew, working full-time and running a market garden stand during the evening's and weekends. She strongly and bravely carried on in the family tradition of running the vegetable farm after her dad retired. She worked the same land her mom, dad and siblings worked since shortly after her mom and dad came to Canada after WW2. Many hardships were endured by her parents, but they made it. Sorry to see you go so early Dar. Thanks for all you did for the world while you were here. Love you. - Posted by: Damien (Nephew) on: Apr 12, 2021
