With heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Helen Nault at St. Boniface Hospital.
Helen leaves to mourn her daughter Kim (Harry); grandsons, Colin and Devin; daughter Michele; special friends, Diane and Helen. Helen was predeceased by her father Edward; mother Gladys; and son Raymond.
Mom spent her early years in Hairdressing. Fellow students called mom "Lady Clairol" as she was doing highlights long before they became a thing.
Mom worked several years at the Fort Rouge Legion as the door person, then moved on to the Superstore Meat Department for over 20 years until retirement.
Family was everything to Mom. Becoming a grandmother was the joy of Mom's life. She looked forward to holiday dinners and celebrations.
Mom silently carried the weight of losing a son with her each day.
Mom enjoyed spending time going for lunch or dinner with her children. She liked going for car rides on nice days. Mom discovered her love of travel later in life. She loved going on cruises and would spend all day and evening exploring the ships.
Mom's unselfish and caring nature shone through right to the end. A nurse told us that Mom was the nicest patient she has ever had. That was Mom! We miss her dearly.
We would like to thank the ICU Team for all their efforts. A special thank you to Dr. Shelly Zubert for all her compassion, and patiently answering all our questions.
As per Mom's wishes there will be no formal service.
Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a photo-tribute, stories, and condolences for the family by visiting Helen's memorial page at

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Michelle, Kim and Harry and boys, I am truly saddened by the loss of your mom and grandmother, and my sweet Aunt. I have only good memories of my Auntie Helen, and only wish we could have had more. I wish that we could have been able to say goodbye, although that wouldn’t be possible at this time, if ever, so I sent her a message just for her but I am sending Big Huge-virtual hugs to everyone of you and just please know that you are in my thoughts at this very hard time of your lives and always have been, and always will be. Love you all Laney, Darren & Crissy. She is a Peach😘💔 - Posted by: Elaine Lilley and family (Niece ) on: Apr 17, 2021

  • To Michele & Kim, family & friends. Our family condolences to all. "Auntie Helen" will be missed by many. May your memories bring you joy during these trying times. God Bless and Rest in Peace. With prayers (Cousin Dan) and the Tom Lester family, being (Aunt) Alice, (cousins) Daniel, Lisa, and Curtis and families. - Posted by: Dan Lester (Family - cousin) on: Apr 12, 2021

  • Michele, Kim (Family), I’m saddened to hear of your mom's passing. She was like a second mom to many of us teenagers growing up in “the rouge”. Her door and kitchen was always welcoming. I won’t miss her fried mushrooms she shared with me once. Her gentle soul and beautiful smile will be missed. - Posted by: Nancy Shatzko (Haliburton) (Friend) on: Apr 11, 2021
