  • I'LL NEVER FORGET THE TIMES WE HAD FROM THE PAST. R.I.P - Posted by: STEVE (FRIEND) on: Apr 30, 2021

  • How do you possibly pack a lifetime of great memories, great times, a great friendship into a paragraph, quite simply, you can't. A novel or a movie might suffice. The problem is it could never be re-written, one of my truly best friends, vacationing in Florida together, playing hockey, growing up together, becoming adults together, Raider games and all the laughs that went along with it, sore guts and faces the next day, the camping trips with Rocko and Dodie, the list is endless and so are the memories. My heartfelt condolences to Mary his Mom and all his family and to everyone he touched. You are loved and always in our hearts. RIP my brotha, it ain't gonna be the same down here without you. i ne of my truly best friends - Posted by: Stik (friend) on: Apr 29, 2021

  • Dirk, My good friend of many years, you have left us far too soon. Thank you for your friendship, we had a lot of laughs and good times making many cherished memories along the way. You never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anyone. You will be forever remembered and you will be greatly missed. God broke our hearts to prove to us He chose to take the best. We will meet again one day. - Posted by: Kent (Friend) on: Apr 22, 2021

  • My condolences go out to his family and anyone else who knew or met Dirk. Dirk was a great friend of mine back in the 80s. We all hung out on Weatherstone block. We played street hockey together everyday after school in the summer. We drove around in his parents white Chevette when he was 16. We went to concerts together, his family brought me skiiing. Dirk was one of my best friends during our teens. I moved from Winnipeg in 1988 only to return to see my family once a year. I lost track of my old friends but always remembered Dirk. Dirk was always laughing having fun from what I can remember. it is sad to hear of such a loss at a young age like this. RIP Dirk you will always have a special place in my heart for making my teens that much more enjoyable. - Posted by: Steven Labelle (old friend) on: Apr 21, 2021

  • Dirk was a father to me and a grandfather to my boys. The best we could have ever asked for. We were so blessed to have him in our lives for all the years we did. Thanks to Dirk, we never went a day without knowing we were loved. He was the most selfless and caring person. So funny and an overall fantastic person. We will always miss him. I hope he's resting in peace with his late father and his dogs. He is truly irreplaceable. My condolences to his mother, Mary and the rest of his family. Praying for healing for all of us. - Posted by: Jade Labillois (Daughter) on: Apr 21, 2021

  • My heartfelt condolences to Dirk's family. I must say the obituary is lovely & speaks truly to the wonderful caring man he was. Dirk was giving & thoughtful he spoke often of his loving Mother and Father who helped him out during difficult times and whom he loved very much. Dirk was not just a helpful neighbor he was someone I spent many moments chatting with, I will miss him. - Posted by: Berdina Shorten (Friend) on: Apr 17, 2021

  • Goodbyes hurt the most when the story wasn't finished. You are gone much too soon, Dirk. You have left behind so many wonderful memories of belly laughs and giant hugs. Your physical presence may be gone, but you will live on in our hearts forever. - Posted by: Wendy Doell (Sister) on: Apr 17, 2021

  • My brother was a man of great compassion for those who needed a helping hand, a friendly shoulder to lean on, a confidant in rough times, his door was always open if someone needed a place to stay. Dirk's laughter was so contagious you could not help but laugh with him, some of my fondest memories are of him and my father Don laughing together. I am sure Dirk is sitting with his father Donald in heaven reminicing about all the amazing family vacations taken through out the USA and to Mexico. Remembering you Dirk is the easy part missing you is a heartache that will never go away. Love you Dirk to the heavens and back. - Posted by: Debbie Regehr (Sister) on: Apr 17, 2021
