1924 - 2021

Kay Semple passed away peacefully at Oakview Place on April 2, 2021.
She is survived by stepson Gavin (Jennifer); daughter Lillian (Rene); son John (Penny) and son-in-law Gerald; five grandchildren, Kristine (Michael), Philip (Brenda), Stephen (Anniina), Lindsay and Rob; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Chloe, Jacob, Andrew, Gavin, Rhys and Ava. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Denmark.
Kay was predeceased by her first husband John Anderson (1969), her second husband Robert Semple (2010), and daughter Kitty Beiko (2019).
Kay and John emigrated from Denmark to Canada in 1949, starting out in Maidstone, SK, later in Virden, MB, where they worked on farms. After the oil boom in Virden, Dad starting truck driving. This brought them to Winnipeg in 1960. They endured many hardships in the early years; Mom was no stranger to hard work. Mom enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends.
Kay moved to Oakview Place in April, 2010 when dementia began to affect her daily life.
Our deep and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, caring management and staff on 3 West who looked after Mom so well.
Donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Alzheimer/Dementia Society of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
