JANELLE EVONNE COULOMBE
June 27, 1971 March 23, 2021
She leaves a huge hole in our lives - husband Zsolt Szeredi, his sons, Ryan (Christine and new grandbaby Emma) and Adam, mom Beatrice Coulombe, sisters, Lauri (Grant) Romaniuk and Susan (Paul) Hnatiuk, nephew Mark Hnatiuk (Taylour, Madison), niece Stephanie Hnatiuk (Dan), special Auntie Yolande, and many other relatives. Predeceased by her dad Lionel Coulombe, Gramma Dimock, and many other relatives.
Janelle grew up in south end Winnipeg attending Chancellor School, A. Leach and Vincent Massey. She tried her hand at many jobs here before moving west. She landed in Vancouver and met her love Zsolt, getting married (finally!) in 2013.
Janelle was a very loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend. She loved her life in BC, the jaunts to White Rock, wine touring and her worldly travels with Zsolt but still missed home and never failed to be in touch with a text or reach out for a phone chat and always a laugh. She loved to laugh and never more so than at herself! There was never a shortage of that and never a dull moment with her. Many talks often ending in 'Don't tell Mom'! We will miss her, her stories and our life of the family party so, so much.
Jan was a very talented self-taught painter and some of us are lucky to have a painting or two she had done that now we will treasure as keepsakes.
She will be missed by her co-workers at Hunter Douglas Canada where she enjoyed her job as Sales Manager, her wine tour group and by many friends and family in BC and Manitoba.
Thank you to everyone that reached out in love, support and virtual hugs, sent cards, flowers and gift baskets.
If desired, donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation Canada.
Due to Covid and distance, there will not be a service in Winnipeg at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in BC. Please feel free to share for us a memory or funny story on the Winnipeg Free Press Passages site for Janelle.
Janelle is now with her Dad and little Gramma to hug her tight and keep a close eye on her.
Rest In Peace little sister!

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)
Janelle was not only our store (West Side Paint & Decorating) Hunter Douglas Representative, but also our friend. On the day she passed, we had made an appointment to connect in our store later that afternoon, obviously with wine! She made us laugh, gave us support and was always available to listen to our drama. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out. Her passing has left a huge void in our hearts. Wherever you are Janelle, have fun and drink lots of good quality wine. Taken too young and too soon... - Posted by: Debby Joubert and Chipo Chipaziwa (FRIENDS) on: Apr 29, 2021
I met her many years ago when I lived in Winnipeg, she was a good friend, my deepest condolences to all family and friends of her, rest in peace Janelle - Posted by: MIKE BARKETT (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2021
My deepest condolences to everyone in Janelle's family and to all who share the shock and sadness of Janelle's passing. It is like a knife in the heart for sure. As we all try to understand and get our heads around this most devastating news I want to wrap us all in a warm caring hug, a laugh and a toast ~ shared of coarse with Janelle! Janelle and I met when she began her career at Hunter Douglas and we instantly connected. We shared many many similarities ... (I even worked at The Bay in Winnipeg - many years ago). The joy and positiveness Janelle brought to our lives is truly a blessing. My son Geoff and I are both very blessed to have shared the opportunity of walking a short distance graced by her. We are much better people for it. See you on the other side my friend ~ I love you! - Posted by: Beverley Richards (Hunter Douglas connection that went way beyond ~ she was my friend) on: Apr 19, 2021
I am so sorry to hear of Janelle’s passing. I was friend with Laureen growing up and there was a time that her family took me in when I was 17. So for a short time they were all my family. My condolences to all. - Posted by: Darlene Chase (Sisters friend ) on: Apr 17, 2021
Our sincere condolences to Bea and family. We remember Janelle as a little girl at Little Grammas across the street from us. We shared a birthday. Gone far too young. May your memories comfort you all. - Posted by: Ken and Sharon Cyr Pine Falls (Friends ) on: Apr 17, 2021
Janelle was a strikingly beautiful woman full of energy, passion and fun. I recall she came for a visit to Manitoba one summer and we met at an outdoor party at Lauri and Grant’s country acreage. It was a typical sweltering humid summer day and everyone was not looking their best under the strain of the heat and humidity. That was, until Janelle bounded on the scene looking like a runway model and suffering no ill effects of the heat what so ever. Her outgoing nature, heartfelt laughter and charm endeared her to everyone. Beautiful on the outside and the inside, this is how she will be remembered and celebrated. - Posted by: Diana Wiesenthal (Friend of sisters) on: Apr 17, 2021
Bea, Janelle was my daughter's (Nichole) first friend when we moved to Chancellor Drive in 1975. She made our daughter's move to a strange new area so much easier and we were so thankful for that. Bea, our prayers and deepest sympathies are with you at this time. George & Angele Menard - Posted by: George & Angele Menard (ex neighbour) on: Apr 17, 2021
So sorry to hear of the passing of my old pal Janelle. We spent so much time together in our younger years, especially junior high at AA Leach. I remember always laughing, she was so funny and full of life! No doubt heaven will be full of sore bellies from laughing now that Janelle has joined, although way too soon. Much love my old friend, til we meet again! - Posted by: Greg Griffiths (Old Friend) on: Apr 17, 2021
I had the pleasure of working with Janelle a long time ago at the Bay. She was a wonderful, warm, practical woman who was able to draw the best out of people without them even knowing it. My deepest condolences to her family. - Posted by: Laura (Colleague) on: Apr 17, 2021
