ZENNIE NAVITKA
June 21, 1938 - April 14, 2021
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Judy; daughter Connie; son Doug (Gaetane); son-in-law Don (Elana); granddaughters, Kristin (Ryan), Nicole (Mack), Tori (Tim), Taylor (Spencer); two precious great-grandchildren, Rhett and Brooks and two more on the way.
Zennie was predeceased by his daughter Laura; parents, Anna and Steve; brother Eugene and sister-in-law Joan, sister Pearl, and nephews, Gerry and Ronnie.
He enjoyed coaching his son's hockey and baseball teams and later being his granddaughters' biggest fan at their ringette, hockey, volleyball and track.
Zennie loved camping with his family and taking long road trips with his wife Judy throughout Canada and the USA.
After working for 37 years with CNR, Zennie retired and he and Judy moved to Gimli, MB at Lake Forest Estates. They enjoyed 10 years there but due to his failing health, decided to move back to Winnipeg.
Zennie was blessed with the gift of playing music and even taught his nephew Ronnie how to play. Many good times were had listening to the two of them play. Watching Zennie play the guitar and harmonica at the same time captivated many.
He loved going to the lounge at Armadale Hollows to play the guitar for the Armadillos and then when they moved to the Enclave, he enjoyed Wednesday night Jam nights playing with his guitar partner Oscar and the Sunshine girls.
A family celebration of Zennie's life will be held at a later time.
Many thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Dialysis Unit, and staff of 4A South.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kidney Foundation.

We are so sorry to hear of Zennie’s passing. We have fond memories of our Friday night get-togethers at The Enclave. We always enjoyed Zennie’s soft spoken humour & stories. Zennie & Judy’s obvious devotion & affection for each other was inspirational. You both have been a topic of our conversations many times.
