BARRY EDWARD ROBERT TARAS
May 18, 1957 - April 20, 2021

Barry peacefully took his last breath at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Stan and Rose, he is lovingly remembered by his wife Christine Taras, son Jeffery Taras, sister Betty Taras, brother Robert Taras (Lorraine); sisters-in-law, Marie Clark (Ron) and Virginia Opitz, many loved nieces and nephews, his partner in adventures Bruce, and a great many friends.
Barry was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He worked both in and out of town with Rakowski Wrecking for many years before starting and running his own business, Garven Enterprises, well known and respected throughout the community for always providing excellent skilled service.
Barry was loved by those who knew him as generous, loving, and quick to help. His passion for motorcycles, cars, boats, trucks, and all things mechanical gave him the skills to take broken things apart, then recreate them into working order. He loved his guitars and music and gatherings with family and friends at home, in the shop, or at the lake that would often go well into the night. Another love of Barry's was spontaneous road trips, maybe in the car, or the motorhome, or towing a 5th wheel. Sometimes he would tell Christine in the morning to pack their bags and by noon they were off. That was Barry, full of love for his family and friends, and full of life for work and play.
Christine and Jeffery want to thank his best friends, especially Bruce, Ron, Kevin and Larry, for all the help and support they gave him during the past several weeks.
Due to the current Covid protocols and restrictions, a day of memories will be held when allowed.
