DAVID LOWRY JOHNSON
Predeceased by his loving wife Gayle (Fraser). Dave will be fondly remembered by his devoted partner Debbie Connelly and her family, daughters, Margie Johnson (Shannon) and Kate Kowacz (Mike), granddaughters, Sequoia, Claire and Zoe, and his brothers, Doug (Marilyn), Ian (Pippi) and Jim (Anne) and their families.
Though Dave left his hometown of Kenora, Ontario, Lake of the Woods remained his favourite place in the world. He went on to become a Phi Delt at the University of Manitoba, and then had a rewarding career in oil and gas exploration, working at Shell and Devran in London. Dave was a passionate traveller, and extensive travel in Europe led him to meet his wife Gayle at the Club Vagabond. Together, they were highly involved in the community at St. John the Evangelist Church, hosted an amazing annual carolling party, and were co-founders of the North London Hootenanny Association. Davey-J also loved going for a pint and conversation, both to meet the locals on his travels and to see friends at the neighbourhood pubs in London. This is how he met his caring partner Debbie. Dave always enjoyed his annual 'canoe trip', and was a Knight's fan, an avid golfer, and an exceptionally proud father and grandfather.
Dave's many friends and family members will remember him for his positive outlook, passionate storytelling, enthusiastic singing, and his 'joie de vivre'.
An intimate family funeral has taken place.
Donations in Dave's memory can be made to The Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation.
