DAVID (ANGEL) CHRISTIAN SVEINSON
October 6, 1955 - April 22, 2021
Angel Dave was predeceased by his father, Christian Sveinson, his mother (unknown) and his three sisters. He leaves behind his children, Crystal Ann Marie Barnes, Devin Derek Christian Barnes, Christina Mary Elizabeth Levert, Jeffrey Davidson Levert, S.E. Cheyenne Ammeter, and his partner, Shena Marie Alcock.
Angel was well known throughout Winnipeg as a sponsor, a mentor, and a humanitarian at heart. It was not unusual to find him in the company of those who needed a helping hand, or even just a friendly face to chat with. Angel spent many years attending the Knox United Church where he spoke with those battling addictions, and worked to encourage others into sobriety through AA. Angel was also a member of the Central Park Foot Patrol where he spent countless hours with his partner Shena working to clean up the park and to keep people in the community safe. Angel Dave also loved karaoke and was known by many for his deep voice and his likeness to Johnny Cash.
The impact that Angel had on the community throughout the years is immeasurable, as the stories and testimonies continue to pour in. There will certainly be a void left in his wake, and we do not think there will ever be another one just like him. Angel had a strong faith and a belief in a life beyond the veil of what could be seen. We know in our hearts that he is there now, exploring life on the other side, and also watching over us. Rest in paradise our dear father, our friend, our mentor, Angel Dave.
A Celebration of Life will be held by Knox United Church on Saturday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom. Meeting ID 824 6671 9860, Passcode 430881.
Any donations are requested to be made to the Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St., Winnipeg, MB or also to the Central Park Foot Patrol (CPFP).

Dave was a hoot at karaoke, he would sit with me and friends, can never forget his support when my spouse passed, such a great listener, when I came back from Missouri we made contact, wonderful listener, very wise and kind. - Posted by: Ramona Barks (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2021

These past couple of weeks have been surreal but, one must face the inevitable. Throughout our 40 year friendship, David always came through in life's most difficult situations. No matter how many years had gone by, when life was at it's bleakest, I would hear from him. A shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and words of comfort. David had a huge heart. That would never waiver during his lifetime. As I also believe, he will carry this with him on to his next journey. Safe travels my old friend. - Posted by: Carin Donaldson- Barnes (Close friend) on: May 05, 2021

I am offering my condolences on David's passing. A very long time ago David was a part of our blended family. His mother and my father were together and we all lived together for 10 years with my younger brother. On his mother's side he had 3 sisters (one passed that I know of). His mother passed January 3rd, 1974. - Posted by: A.Kalyniuk (Long ago family) on: May 01, 2021
