Condolences & Memories (4 entries)
Condolences to Gary and the family. Aunty Jean was the youngest sister of my grandmother, Mary Rawluk. We left Winnipeg in 1973 but I took my Dad and Mom back to visit family and Aunty Jean several years ago. It was the most memorable visit ever. We talked about everything. She filled so many gaps in the family history project, I am forever grateful. We toured around Cook's Creek and she shared the stories of growing up and much more. Aunty Jean was full of love and grace. Thank you for being you, much love. - Posted by: Rick Ruppenthal (Grand-aunt) on: May 02, 2021
Gary, please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. I have very clear memories of you, your mom, and yes Gary I remember your dad too! Both of your parents were very nice people, especially when a three year old little girl came knocking at the Driscoll’s front door to visit. The most clear memory of our time on Aubrey street in the 1960’s was the Driscoll’s!! As you probably know we lost our dad in February and the most important thing during that time was people reaching out to us, our hearts are with you Gary! Hope to see soon, hopefully in the present century! Take care and know we are thinking about you! My mother and Jean lived and met in the same apartment block. They were good friends for over 20 years! They went on a lot of senior day trips to different cities and took in a lot of events throughout the city, Festival de Voyageur, fall suppers etc. They even dressed up for Halloween for a good laugh! Jean was very polite and such a lady! I made sure when Jean went into nursing home, summer 2019, that my mother would go to the same one, December 2019! I'm glad they got to be together right till her passing! Will miss Jean, such a lovely lady, enjoyed her company and conversations. I met jean through my granny. She was a nice and sweet lady. I didn’t see her much but I would call her once she was in Oakview to see how she was doing. I’m glad she was in the same nursing home as my granny. They were close friends so at least they had each other. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Candice champagne nguyen (Met her through my grandma ) on: May 01, 2021
