Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER GIOVANNI BERTONE
November 19, 1976 - April 27, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Bertone announces his passing at the age of 44. He died peacefully with his mother, sister and uncle at his side.
He was preceded by his father Ermanio, his beloved dog Max and his Nonnas and Nonnos. He is survived by his mother Vincenza, sister Antonella (Kelly), his niece Siena, and his favourite uncle Zizi Mego.
Walter was born in Winnipeg on November 19, 1976. His greatest joy was his dog Max and his niece Siena. He spent many hours being with each one of them and making them his pride and joy. He would do anything for his sister and his mom when they needed. He was a protector of many and always kept family in his heart. He suffered many things but was not one to share with anyone if it meant it would hurt them, he would rather just keep it quiet. He had a great smile, had some pretty hardy laughs in which his friends and family can still hear, you were always waiting for a sarcastic remark and he sure had a quick wit. Not many know but his attention to detail could drive some of us nuts but that is who he was. He loved to work with his hands and could fix anything he put his mind to. If you needed a hand he would never say no but watch out it would get done fast.
He will be greatly missed by all who have had the time to get to know him and spend time with him.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death
we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family burial will take place.
Those we love don't go away.
They walk beside us every day.....
Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

I have very fond childhood memories of growing up together on Edgemont. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Rest easy Walter. - Posted by: Nadia LaRosa (family friend) on: May 12, 2021

It was so nice having supper with Walter and his Mom last summer. We picked up from where we left off 25 years ago. Just remember your memories of Walter will always be living in your hearts. My fondest memories of Walter were of him and my cousin playing together as young boys. Their imaginations ran wild as they tore up and down the street on their bikes. Their laughter could be heard before you could see them. My deepest condolences to all of you. May God keep him close. - Posted by: Lia Gervino (friend of the family) on: May 02, 2021

Dear Vincenzina, Antonella, and family our deepest condolences for the loss of your beautiful son Walter. I always felt connected to him as he was born 1 week after my son Rossanino and therefore we raised our boys together. During his father's illness I would call for updates and Walter always had time to chat and would encourage me to call him anytime. Whenever I saw him at home he would give me a big smile and stop and make me feel welcomed. Let the love he gave comfort you in these next weeks and months to come. Riposa in pace dear Walter. - Posted by: Luisa and Rossano Di Nicola (Friend) on: May 01, 2021
