Bob was a very very nice man. From the time I met him and his lovely wife (Audrey), they treated me like I am one of their own. Never ones did they ever treat me like an outside. You will be surely missed. May your gentle soul rest in peace. You were sure a good man. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ - Posted by: Kanko Mansaray (N/A) on: May 25, 2022

So many great memories of Bob from early days in St. Vital together with my brothers careening down St. Mary's Road, all of us singing at the top of our lungs. Bob with his wonderful tenor voice, to a solo at our wedding and many others. He was like a third brother to me. Later sharing time with Bob and Audrey, his sister Coray and the rest of his family. Also with Stan and Bob playing cards til the early morning hours at my parents little home on the river bank. Too many more to mention. Reg and I will always cherish our time with him. - Posted by: Reg and Shirley Romans (Long time friends) on: May 26, 2021

Bob was an original St Vital firefighter and have very fond remembrances of him coming over to our house for family suppers so many times after a shift joining us and as a young child just being so impressed to how nice of a gentleman he was. My father (Terry) passed away in 2001 and doing a job on Barrington Ave shortly afterwards found him on the blvd and we talked afterwards and he shared so many awesome stories of my old man on the job that had a few tears rolling down my cheek. He said he always felt bad because one night they made a run out to Forbes Road and somehow forgot my Dad at the scene when they left to roll back to the hall and he had to walk to a farm house in his turnout gear and make a call back to the Firehall on Worthington/St Mary’s Rd and they had to come back and pick him up walking down the gravel road. I remember my Dad telling that story and Bob saying it almost exactly how I heard it. Rest In Peace Mr Carlson....one of the good ones! - Posted by: Darren Ingleson (Family friend) on: May 08, 2021
