Condolences & Memories (16 entries)

  • I met Rheal years ago at the Y. He was a very intelligent and interesting gentleman! We talked numerous times over the years. I can see why his students spoke fondly about him. He displayed tremendous grace through his health situation and always had time for others. My deepest condolences to the entire family. He will be missed by all the regulars at the YMCA that knew him. God Bless you all! May he Rest In Peace! - Posted by: Vern Hiebert (Member at YMCA) on: Jul 05, 2021

  • I remember Mr. Painchaud from Collège Béliveau. He was always great with me and was honestly one of my favorite substitute teachers. I remember when I was in English class and he stopped at my desk to ask me some questions about the Steve Jobs book I was using for my assignment. He seemed genuinely interested. Always kind; Spoke with everybody; Had the patience of a saint. R.I.P. - Posted by: Devon T (Former student) on: May 20, 2021

  • Dear Diane, As usual, Rhéal had the graciousness to call us last month. It is then, among many other important things we talked about, that he let us know about his health, his future and how worried he was to have to leave you. We are very sad. We will miss his regular calls and we are very sorry for your loss. René & Michelle - Posted by: René Piché et Michelle Mailhot (Cousins) on: May 14, 2021

  • My condolences to Diane and family of Rheal. I have known Rheal since 1980, when I first started teaching in Winnipeg School Division #1. We constantly kept in contact, even when I left to teach and be in other places in Manitoba. It is an honour and Blessing to know and have Rheal as a friend; we went through many similar trials in our teaching careers. He took his ailments in stride and did what was needed to continue on in life. He taught many and left many with his wisdom and great character. The hardest thing to do in life is to say farewell to a loved one. As with the Faith life is so; it was once upon a time and then it becomes, we will see you again. So till next time we meet Rheal, you will be sadly missed here and great memories of you, will continue on. - Posted by: Frank Unger (Friend) on: May 12, 2021

  • Rhéal, j'ai toujours adoré nos conversations. Ta bonne humeur, ta franchise et tes connaissances me marquaient chaque fois que nous avions la chance de jaser.
