With deepest sorrow, we announce that Keith David Menard, our most beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away suddenly from complications resulting from a tragic accident.
Those who knew him, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
He was predeceased by his loving father David Menard.
Keith will be deeply missed by his mother Lea Menard (Dandeneau); sisters, Connie (Chris), Adele (Rick), and Shelly; as well as nephew Danny; nieces, Elissa and Rhea; and nephew Lucas.
Keith was born in Winnipeg and was diagnosed with Prader-Willi-Syndrome at a young age which caused him many challenges during his lifetime. He was the happiest when he was listening to fiddle music while making many, many puzzles. Keith always enjoyed his collection of music and movies and also loved our many family camping trips while growing up. He excelled in swimming and bowling while being involved with Special Olympics and received many medals and trophies for his accomplishments.
Keith deeply cherished his family time with his aunts, uncles, many cousins, friends, and staff from New Directions.
We will all miss his laughter and his special way of showing his excitement.
A heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors from the GH5 Burn Unit at Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care during his hospital stay. A big thank you to the staff at New Directions while he was in their care at Kilkenny and his new home at Culross. The family would also like to thank everyone for their kind words and support in this time of grief.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Burial will take place at a later date yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Keith's memory to the Health Sciences Centre Burn Unit, New Directions, or Special Olympics.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I always smile when I think of Keith. We often called each other on our birthdays. One particular memory I have of time with Keith was riding his 2 seater bike with him in his neighbourhood. The children whom were on recess in the nearby school yards would run to the fence, wave, smile and yell "Hi". This made Keith very happy. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Menard and Family. صلى الله عليه وسلم - Posted by: Omar Hawash (fellow Winnipegger) on: Jun 17, 2021

  • We have lost a very special person here on earth, but he is dancing to his favorite fiddle music in the heavens with his Dad. Keith was a kind, loving soul, and always was the first to say I love you when we called. We will miss you Keith. Rest in peace. Your light here will shine forever. - Posted by: Harvey and Ada Vandersteen (Uncle and Aunt) on: May 16, 2021

  • Condolences to Mom and the family from a longtime friend, and employee at New Directions. Keith so loved his family birthdays, holidays, and special occasions especially his birthdays, which were memorable. Enjoyed many Mall walks with him, in an effort to keep him mobile, and he could make a few "bucks" along the way! As well as going swimming with him at the Winnipeg public pool! Loved his enthusiasm for movies, DVD's and puzzles! ! he had smile that will live our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
