Mannie passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Peggy and family at his side. Mannie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (Peggy) Goldenthal (nee MacKinnon); and his children, Tammy Knowles, Tinna (Chad) Goldenthal, Tonni (Dale) Kostiew, Todd (Wendy) Goldenthal and Troy Goldenthal; as well as 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his own family, Mannie's innate kindness and care for others also led him to become a surrogate father, uncle and grandfather to many and he leaves behind an impressive legacy of extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
Mannie was outgoing and quick to engage people in conversation and made new friends throughout his long life. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed being the centre of attention. He continually entertained with his extraordinary sense of humour and some of our fondest memories will be of him "holding court" and amusing us with his endless supply of stories and jokes. His vibrant presence enhanced our lives and he will be missed more than we can express.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mannie's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)
Mel was a great guy. We enjoyed visiting with him and his family, he had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable you could talk to him about anything. Rest in peace and my sincere condolences to Peggy and his children and grandchildren - Posted by: Peter Evans (Brother in law ) on: May 21, 2021
We will miss you Uncle Manny. There was so much more we needed to talk about regarding your life but sadly so little time together to do so. What little time we did share together was a blessing. - Posted by: Allen Goldenthal (nephew) on: May 16, 2021
Thoughts and prayers to Mannis family. I didn't know Mel very long but he was a wonderful man. Rest in peace 🙏 my friend, you'll be missed. - Posted by: Albert Champagne (Ex neighbor) on: May 15, 2021
