December 2, 1949 May 4, 2021
Norieta was predeceased by her husband, Joel Molino Macalipay, her mother, Christeta Dimaculangan, her father, Isabelo Dimaculangan, and father-in-law, Ricardo Rocha Macalipay. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lilibeth Macalipay, Elvin Ryan Macalipay (Nathalie) and Joshua Macalipay, her grandchildren, Emma, Kali, Rae-Anne and Rene, as well as her brothers and sisters and their families.
Norieta was born in Calumpang West San Luis, Batangas, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1973. She married Joel upon his arrival to Canada in 1977 and welcomed three amazing children during their life together. Sadly, in 2010, her husband Joel passed away. Mom loved to cook, bake, crochet, play the organ, read and sew, but mostly she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her devotion to her family, Norieta worked at the Health Sciences Centre for 38 years retiring in 2014.
The family would like to thank the staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their loving and compassionate care of Norieta, but also during these difficult times resulting from the current pandemic they kept her safe, comfortable and Covid free. The family would also like to express gratitude to Dr. Ingles for having cared so compassionately for Mom and having given us more time to continue loving her and having her present during many of life's milestones.
Due to current health restrictions, a private family viewing will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Christ the Redeemer Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Norieta's name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
Lola and I are both Rene grandmothers, which is Ryan and Nathalie son!! We met when our kids started dating, she was a very nice and quiet lady. We were always happy to see each other at family functions with her beautiful smile. The best memory that I will cherish for ever is the day that her son Ryan got married to my daughter Nathalie!! The mother and son dance was so emotional and precious that everyone will cherish for ever!! Love you Lola and Rest In Peace, we love you so much 💝😘💐 - Posted by: Christine (Family) on: May 15, 2021
