DONNA GOLLER
(nee BERTIE)
1949 - 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious wife, mother, oma, sister, aunt, and friend. Donna passed away at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Hans, daughter Susi (Karlin) Shelvey, son Chris (Tasha) Goller, grandchildren, Caleb, Katie, Braden, Justin, Aiden, Max, Leo, and Oskar, sister Carolyn "Bunnie" (Garry) Shedeck, brother Garth (Anny) Bertie, many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her father Jack Bertie, mother Alexia Bertie, and brother Robert "Bob" Bertie.
Donna was born in Morris and later moved with her family to the St. James area in Winnipeg. It was here, on Linwood Street, where she met her husband Hans, whom she always joked that she got him "straight off the boat". After graduating from St. James Collegiate, Donna began her career. For close to 30 years she worked for WRE Development. Donna's career and her work family were very important to her and played a significant role in her life.
In their 51 years of marriage, Donna and Hans enjoyed travelling and spending winter months in Arizona with family and friends. In the summer months they lived in their home on the Winnipeg River near Lac du Bonnet. They always loved having their kids and grandkids over for a busy, fun filled weekend.
We would like to thank all the staff in the Palliative Care Program for being so kind and caring.
We are grateful for all the kind words and thoughts.
Cremation has taken place and we look forward to sharing memories with you at a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Love you to the moon and back!

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • We were saddened to hear of Donna‚Äôs passing. She always had a smile for everyone and we had many conversations on the end of the driveway. As neighbours on Brittany we were all busy raising our young families and Susi babysat our kids many times. Rest In Peace Donna. - Posted by: Monica Gustafson (Former Neighbour (Brittany Dr.)) on: Jun 03, 2021

  • In 1984 we moved to Brittany Drive across the street from the Gollers. Donna and Hans were always friendly neighbours and busy with all their work and house projects. Our daughters went to different schools but still played together. Susie was always polite and sweet. I was saddened to hear of Donna's illness and passing and would like to pass on my sincere condolences to the family. I will always remember Donna's kindness, laugh and sense of humour. - Posted by: Heather Willoughby (Former neighbour) on: May 25, 2021

  • Our hearts go out to you Hans, Susi and Chris and your families. As sad as we are that she is no longer with us, she leaves behind her larger than life gift of love, life and Family.
