ELIZABETH (BETTY) KOSLOWSKY

Elizabeth (Betty) Koslowsky, age 95, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021 with family by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter Koslowsky; her parents, David and Maria Falk (nee Krause); and her siblings, Ben Falk, David Falk, Frank Falk, Bill Falk, Helen Unruh (nee Falk), Anna Schellenberg (nee Falk) and Mary Penner (nee Falk).
She is survived by her brother Jake Falk; her children, Ernie Koslowsky, Ron (Wally) Koslowsky, Ken (Margaret) Koslowsky, Bob (Donna) Koslowsky, Janet (Karl) Fast, Laurene (Reg) Siemens, and Jeff (Trish) Koslowsky, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom was born March 26, 1926 in Arkadak, Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada at a very young age with her mother and siblings and spent her childhood outside Niverville, MB. It was here she met Peter Koslowsky and they were married September 15, 1946. Mom and Dad were blessed with seven children, five sons and two daughters. They raised their family, farmed, worshipped, and served their community outside of Niverville for many years before moving into Winnipeg in 1964. Once in Winnipeg, they did the same, raising their family, farming until dad retired, worshipping and serving their new community.
Dad passed away on October 13, 1996 after celebrating 50 years together with Mom. While he was deeply missed, Mom courageously continued to live a full life, travelling, attending events, participating in church activities, and hosting gatherings with family and her friends. Over time, the family increased to include 40 grandchildren (with spouses) and 43 great-grandchildren. She cared deeply for each one and demonstrated her love through prayers, cards and encouraging words. Faith, family, and friends were central to Mom.
A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside at Niverville Heritage Cemetery in Niverville, MB with viewing prior. Those invited please tune your car radio to 87.9 FM upon arrival for instructions.
Service can be viewed at come-together.ca after May 19, 2021.
While we grieve our loss, we do not grieve as those without hope but rejoice with confidence, knowing she has been welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father.

  • Hello Ron and Wally, Art and I were so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you both, your children and grandchildren, as well as to the rest of your family. You can take comfort in the knowledge that your Mom is once again with her beloved husband, and other family. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by all. It is true, though, that time heals, and one day the sadness passes, and the fantastic family memories remain. Ron, you mentioned a lot of the fun times you will remember having with your Mom throughout her life. Treasure these memories, and take solace she is with her Lord and Saviour, until you meet again. Take care! - Posted by: Heather Regier (Sister in law and brother in law of Ron Kosolowsky) on: May 19, 2021
