DONALD BARRY HOWIE
He is fondly remembered by his wife Barbara; his children, Megan and Michael, and his grandson Caspian.
Don was born August 1, 1949, to Alice (nee Sellen) and Donald Murray Howie in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After graduating the University of Manitoba, Don and Barbara (nee Blackman) married and relocated to Oakville, Ontario, where they began their family. Don was active in youth sports and curling, was a member at the Oakville Golf Club and enjoyed walks with family through Oakville's ravines and trails. Don grew many friendships through his business experiences with Great West Life, MD Management, and other ventures.
A memorial service will be announced in the coming months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Don to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (www.camh.ca).

Don and I went through U of M Commerce together. We also shared many competitive football and curling games with just as many good memories of those challenges. We also shared a summer working for Don Sr. to make money for university and that was a great experience. Family times were also a treat as we watched our families ground develop. My sincerest prayers for Barb and the whole family at this sad time. Barry - Posted by: Barry Fawley (Friend) on: May 26, 2021

Heartfelt thoughts to Don's family and friends. In the early 80s was fortunate to deal with Don on some of his groups. Very kind, professional man. Cherish your memories during this sad time. - Posted by: Lynn (Brogden) Checkley (GWL ) on: May 26, 2021
