EUGENE JOSEPH BAUDRU

Gene passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Grace Hospital.
Gene was born on March 14, 1924 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He began working for Trans Canada Airlines at the age of 17, starting as an airplane mechanic working in Kapuskasing and Winnipeg, retiring from Air Canada in 1978, where he was a manager in aircraft maintenance.
He met Gladys (Taylor) and they married in 1955. They began their lives together in St. James, where they lived and raised their three children. Many wonderful days were spent at the lake with their children and grandchildren.
Dad had a stroke in 2002 that left him with some disability. He still managed, mostly through stubbornness and determination, to stay in his own home till his passing. He was where he wanted to be.
Gene was predeceased by his wife Gladys; parents, Felix and Laure Baudru; brother Rene Baudru and sister Julie Baudru.
He will be missed by his daughter Susan (Warren); granddaughters, Sarah (Cory), Anna (Stefan), Kathryn (Neil); son Jim (Alice); granddaughters, Jamie (Shaun), Kelly (Fred); son Ken (Diane); grandsons, Kyle (Samantha) and Tyler and numerous great- grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his long time best friend, James Drouin.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service at a later date.
