RICHARD BELL
Born in Winnipeg to Joyce and Gordon Bell, our dad spent his youth in Transcona. Throughout his life, Transcona was a place dear to him. From a young age, one of his most wonderful qualities - his magnetic personality - drew people to him. He was a social butterfly, and he never had difficulty making friends. All through his life he enjoyed hockey, baseball and bowling. He was proud to be a cadet and serve as a member of the Canadian Reserves. He also took great pride in his affiliation with the Masons. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Winnipeg, our dad's personality was a perfect fit for a career in sales. He had great success with numerous employers in both Winnipeg and Calgary, including Russel Metals, Ryerson Metals, Otis Canada Inc., Welspun Steel, and Marubeni-Itochu Steel. With his sales career, he was able to travel to experience different ways of life. Trips to Japan and India were highlights.
His most important job, and the one HE loved the greatest, was being our dad. From watching a football or hockey game, to getting fingernails done, to making homemade pickles, to playing "Red Dead Redemption 2", a weekend was never dull. We will always remember his tasty pancakes, his strong opinions, his love of "South Park" and "Black Sabbath", and most of all, his caring heart. Daddy, you may be gone, but you will forever be with us in our hearts. We miss you more than anyone could ever imagine.
Jackson (age 15) and Sydney (age 13).

I’m very sorry on the passing of Richard. If you can imagine the same group of guys sharing the same classroom everyday for 3 years it was only a matter of time before the shenanigans would start. No one was ever safe including Richard who had a few tricks up his sleeve. Making the grade 10's do a number of chores was an ongoing tradition that he carried on: having them stand on an X while spot welding or the machine would not work, looking for buckets of steam to deliver to the canteen ladies and switching their welding helmets to name a few. Rest in Peace my friend. - Posted by: DAVID BROWN (High School Friend/Classmate) on: Jun 04, 2021

Our hearts are broken. Jackson and Sydney we are so sorry for your loss. Your dad was like a brother to Brent. My kids called him Uncle Richard and you and your sister were their cousins. We were glad to go see him when he lived in Calgary. We just went over to his mom’s to give cheesecake for his birthday. Richard was a very loyal friend and we will miss all the talks and visits we had. Condolences - Posted by: Kim Lucko (Friend) on: Jun 03, 2021

Not sure where to start but my heart goes out to you for the loss of Richard, we go back to grade 1 so that is a very long time ago. Over the years we took different paths but always stayed in touch always. One day we were brought back together working at Russel Metals. He were roommates on all of our hockey travels, he was always the life of any gathering but one most important thing he was a very very Loyal friend. Rest in Peace my friend.
