I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Janice. Janice was always very welcoming at church and very giving of her time to help. It was always so heartwarming to see her and her Mom together both at the Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede, and subsequently at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. - Posted by: Inga Skundberg (Acquaintance ) on: Jun 12, 2021

So sorry for your loss John. Janice was such a diligent custodian of our Church office, and willingly did anything that was asked of her. I hope that my thoughts and prayers are able to be of comfort to you. Rest in peace Janice, you will be missed. May God keep you John, and give you His strength and love, now and in the days ahead. Always helping at the food bank. Heard many stories of the renovations, and neighbourhood :) Not afraid to express her emotions - that's what makes us human :) Will be missed, but memories live forever ! - Posted by: Dale (friend) on: Jun 08, 2021

Oh, John, this was such a shock to hear. Janice had been a fixture at St James Anglican for a long time ... working in the office and finding other jobs to do in her down time ... even bringing your mother in to help her! The two of them attended so many of our events, too, as part of the SJAC family. Janice did tend to be stubborn and feisty about some things ... but she knew the church offices, and when we had to lay her off last summer, she still came to volunteer her time, and was there every food bank day to help when the food arrived ... all through this pandemic shut-down, she was a member of my noon team of three. When I started doing the bulletins and weekly services to email she never turned my questions away: always willing to help me: a lot of what I've learned over the past year is based on Janice's help. Janice had a very good heart. This is food bank week: it just won't be the same to walk in there and not see Janice, or hear her voice and laugh. Take care.
