JEFFERY ALAN JOHANSON

Jeffery Alan Johanson, on May 27, 2021 at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, at the age of 63, passed peacefully with family by his side.
Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him, most importantly his sons, Lorne and Mitchell (Donna); father Lorne Johanson, brother Jim (Monica), sister Wendy (Charlie), nephew Jake (Sarah, Nora and Tom), niece Laura (Sean), numerous other nieces and good friends, Dave and Alma Craigie.
Jeff was predeceased by his mother Helen Johanson, and sister Joan Parson (nee Johanson).
Jeff was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 14, 1957. He moved to Selkirk, MB at a young age where he spent many years making many friends. Jeff left Selkirk and spent time in California and moved back to Manitoba to start his career as an entrepreneur purchasing a hotel he ran for many years before later moving on to construction in Winnipeg. Jeff eventually settled in Grand Marais where he made even more friends and got to watch his boys grow.
Jeff loved his corvettes, camping trips with the boys, Mexico visits with his bro, fishing, hunting and entertaining. He was truly "one of a kind" and will be greatly missed.
Keeping with his wishes, Jeff has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
If anyone wishes please donate to a charity of your choice.

  • Jeff was our neighbour at home and at the lake. A real character.., there was never a dull moment when he was around!. He was always ”in the know” about people and events in Selkirk and Grand Marais! Bob can still recall... from way back in the day Helen’s signature call... ”jeffreeeee what are you doing ...you little buggar?” Jeff had a kind heart and spirit, a great sense of humour and much love and pride for his sons! Our deepest sympathy to Lorne and family. REST IN PEACE DEAR JEFF. - Posted by: Bob and Jane Massey (Friend) on: Jun 11, 2021

  • Jeff was one of kind we called ”loudmouth Jeff“ because of his hard of hearing so he talked so loud. He would phone everyday and say “now what’s going on and where is peckerhead Lyle" He would come to the farm quite often and bring barley beer soup chicken and sit and visit me with a beer and smoke, I loved him for his friendship he shared with me and I will miss him dearly, I still can’t believe he is gone when the phone rings I think it’s Jeff. Rest In Peace my beautiful friend🙏🏻💙🙏🏻 Till we meet again! Condolences to his boys Lorne and Mitchell🙏🏻💙🙏🏻 - Posted by: KarenBruneau (Good friend) on: Jun 06, 2021
