Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

My deepest condolences to Vera and to all of the family. I was sorry to hear that Peter passed away. It was only very recently that I received a get well card from Peter and Vera (and Jane thank you,) to encourage me in my recent accident and recuperation. I will remember Peter as an encouraging professor while at CMBC so many years ago. I still have my copy of The Writings of St. Paul because of the profound effect Peter's teaching had on my spiritual growth and understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. May God bless and comfort your family as you remember Peter. May God uphold you and give you strength for the days ahead. - Posted by: Betsy Bergen (former student at CMBC) on: Jun 06, 2021

Vera, Jane and David, I am so sorry to hear of Peter’s death. I have so many memories of Peter at CMBC. His door was always open and tea was always ready to be served. He was a good listener, had good advice and a great teacher. The Third World Theology course he taught with A Ens in the late 1970s changed my life. Peter also very much enjoyed speaking of Chortitz now Randolph. That was a wonderful bond we shared. He has left a legacy with many of his former students. Thank you Peter. - Posted by: Evelyn Peters-Rojas (Former student at CMBC) on: Jun 05, 2021

We are so sorry to hear of Peter's death. He was always such a cheerful, supportive colleague; so interested in our lives, and especially eager to hear about all things music. He will always remain in my memory as a beautiful, gentle man, with no pretensions; a genuine "Mensch", and yet so brilliant. Rest In Peace, dear Peter....you will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Henriette Schellenberg (Colleague ) on: Jun 05, 2021
