Helen Wall (Schwarzhoff) (nee Neustaeter) was born March 23, 1930 in Chortitz, SK to John and Sarah Neustaeter. She died June 2, 2021 from cancer.
She grew up and went to school in Chortitz. She had to quit school when she was 15 years old to help her parents on the farm. When she was only 16 years old, she went working in the city to earn money to buy her own clothes. Mom accepted Jesus as her Saviour June 1946 at 16 years of age. When she was 18 years old, she went to Bible school for one year and at the end of the school year, she got baptized and joined the General Conference Mennonite Church. Mom joined the Morrow Gospel Church after she married John Wall. Our mother did housework for other people for eight years, until she met and married our dad in 1957. They had almost 35 happy years together when dad passed away quite suddenly. She was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard Schwarzhoff on September 18, 1992. Mom was a widow for five years when she remarried to John Wall on January 10, 1998. John predeceased Mom on May 8, 2014.
Mom was predeceased by her dad March 1972 and her mom May 1980. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Sarah, Cornelius, John and William and their spouses, John, Agatha, Susan and Kaye; her in-laws, Gladys and Lyle; Mamie and Art and Dale; several nieces and nephews; her son-in-law Steve; step-son-in-law Ron and all her uncles and aunts whom she missed very much.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Brian) Kroeker, Gladys (Steve – December) Rich, Valerie (Brian) Peasey and Leona Schwarzhoff. She is also survived by grandchildren, Christopher and Cassandra Pearson, Paul, Joshua and Mark Peasey, Sarah (Stephen) Dyck, Daniel and Lindsay Kroeker and four great-grandchildren, David, Jaxen, Calvin and Evie.
Her family was her life, she loved them all very much. Her biggest desire for them was that they would all serve the Lord with their whole heart.
Mom is also survived by her siblings, Tina Thurlow and Dave (Nettie) Neustaeter; sister-in-law Laverne (Tom) LaPointe and step- children, Ernie (Christine) Wall and Mary Wall and their families.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Mennonite Central Committee. The funeral will be family only on June 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. and will be live-streamed and recorded. The link can be found at

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I will always remember 'Auntie Helen' with warmth and love. She was always present, caring, gracious and warm. I still remember being shown the slideshow of the grand roadtrip to Disneyworld. It was those images that coaxed me to give my own children a similar memory and is why to this day, I still ache for epic roadtrips. - Posted by: Eldon Neustaeter (Nephew) on: Jun 08, 2021

  • Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was a kind lady. My parents, Frank & Neta Thiessen enjoyed the time they spent with her especially my Mom. May the memories you have of her and the time spent together give you comfort. - Posted by: Ginny Thiessen (Friend) on: Jun 05, 2021
