BRENDA ENGBAEK
(nee PURDY)
1949 - 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Engbaek (nee Purdy) on June 1, 2021.
Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, passed peacefully, but too soon from Covid-19.
She will be fondly remembered but sadly missed by Flemming, her loving husband of 54 years; her children, Pamela (Gregg) Parker, David (Lauren) Engbaek; her sisters, Debbie (Steve) Parsons and Janice (Randy) VanVliet; and grandchildren, Erik and Sabrina Parker, as well her special friend Barbara Fletcher and extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Carman and Geraldine (Gerry) Purdy.
Brenda cherished her husband and thought of him as her Viking Prince Charming and frequently said it was love at first sight.
She enjoyed reading and watching mysteries. She was gifted with crafts, needlework and sewing. She loved camping with her family. She had a soft spot for animals and always had dogs, cats and other critters her children would bring home to her. She also enjoyed the simple pleasure of sitting on her patio watching the stars with her family and friends.
The following is taken from her Facebook page and we feel it captured her spirit.

This is Brenda
She does not want perfection, she wants content. She feels it all, the good, the bad
and the worse but she chooses to believe
in the good.
She is caring and loving and does it with
all her heart and soul. She can brighten a
day with her smile. She lives, she laughs,
and she cries too. But she never gives up
because she believes that life is beautiful
and there is always hope.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of wards GD-4 and GD-5 at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and support.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a celebration of Brenda's beautiful life will take place at a later date. Cremation has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to D'arcys Arc Animal Rescue of Winnipeg.
