It is with great sadness that during of evening of June 3, 2021, Helen Maddaford passed away at home with her children by her side. Helen grew up and was a lifelong resident of Cooks Creek, Manitoba.
Helen's passions were gardening, watching birds, spending time outdoors and camping with her family. In past years, she frequently curled at the Hazelridge and Dugald Curling Clubs.
Helen was married to Ernest Maddaford and has four children, Thane (Colleen), Colleen (Danny), Heather (Murray) and Shawn (Caroline), ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Beausejour Hospital, Dr. Jeff Wiebe, and Interlake Eastman Home and Palliative Care for their care and support at the hospital and during her return home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice are appreciated.
A Celebration of Life is anticipated in August or September of 2021.

  • I was so sorry to learn of Helen's passing. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with all of you. So many years have passed, and in reflection our family ties have not been kept. It was good to speak with Thane the other evening and to know that she passed away ay home, as she wished. With all her family close to her and particularly with the pandemic restrictions within the hospitals. May the thoughts and remembrances of good times together give an uplifting of strength and love to all the family. - Posted by: Mel Finlayson (Family) on: Jun 12, 2021
