NANCY JANE NOLAN
She is survived by Darryl, partner of 23 years, her children, Jonah and Chloe, stepson Brian and his wife Keren; grandchildren, Ryden, Braelyn and stepson Trevor; her four brothers, Patrick, Todd, Kelly and Terry, and their partners; brother-in-law Dale and partner Grace; two biological sisters, Aurora and Toni and their partners; adopted mother, Shirley Nolan, biological mother Lorraine Gladu and partner Rodd, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving father Robert Nolan.
Nancy grew up in Transcona, later buying a forever home in Charleswood with her beloved husband Darryl.
She always had a love for music. Nancy attended 57 live concerts in her lifetime, as well as many years attending the great Winnipeg Folk Festival. Since 1992, Nancy has only missed two festivals. Both times were for the for the birth of her two children, Jonah (1999) and Chloe (2001), who were both coincidentally born during folk fest.
Nancy was the cool aunt, the hip friend, the caring stepmom, the doting grandma or "hamma" as her grandchildren say, the wise coworker and the woman who knew every lyric to every song. She enjoyed spending her time at the Nolan family cabin at Wanipigow Lake and the family cabin at Lac du Bonnet, travelling, and being with family. Nancy was a dedicated nurse for 23 years with Manitoba Corrections. She loved her coworkers and helping disenfranchised individuals.
The family would like to say special thank you to CancerCare Manitoba and all of our loving friends who helped out so much.
A Celebration of Life will take place once Covid restrictions are lifted.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family ask donations go to the Winnipeg Folk Festival or CancerCare Manitoba.

Nearly two years after and I am just learning of Nancy's passing. To her entire family I want to express my sincerest of condolences. May her memory be eternal! I have many fond memories growing up in Transcona with the Nolan family. Nancy was an absolute sweetheart from my earliest of recollections, and could brighten anyone's day with her smile. In whatever way a person was connected to Nancy, you were most certainly blessed to be so. - Posted by: Brent Early (Childhood friend) on: May 18, 2023

I met Nancy 49 years ago. We did lose contact for awhile but thankfully we were able to rekindle our friendship. Nancy was a true inspiration who when faced with a devastating blow, did so with a smile and dignity. You are loved by so many.
