DONNA-MARIE FRANCZYK

With deep sadness, the family of Donna-Marie Regina Franczyk (Donna) announces her peaceful passing on June 4, 2021, at the St. Amant Centre.
Donna was born on April 17, 1966, the last child and only daughter to Karol and Janet Franczyk. Her birth brought much joy to her family after the unexpected passing of her brother Edward (Eddy).
At six months of age, Donna was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome. Although this syndrome took away her ability to communicate and interact with her family, her gentle presence was a blessing to them. As her physical needs progressed, Donna became a permanent resident of the St. Amant Centre. There, she received first-class care and attention. Her family enjoyed Sunday lunches, celebrations, and holiday get-togethers with her there.
Her life was a precious gift, her spirit resilient. She taught her family to be brave and strong, and most importantly, to love without limits.
Donna leaves to mourn her mother Janet; brothers, Chris (Sheila) and Andrew (Sandy) and their families; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her St. Amant family. She was predeceased by her father and brother, as well as other family members and friends.
Thank you to the committed and caring staff at St. Amant. Your unparalleled love and dedication to Donna enriched her life with dignity and respect.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Amant Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Auntie Donna, it was a blessing to have you as my aunt and I am grateful for the 39 years I had with you. I wish Luke would have had more opportunities to visit with you and to experience the St. Amant environment like I did growing up. I know that you were welcomed into heaven with open arms and are now reunited with Grampa and Uncle Eddy. We will take good care of Nana. She will miss you- and so will we. Love you always. - Posted by: Kelly (Niece ) on: Jun 13, 2021

  • Dear Janet and family, a precious angel was called back to heaven. Deo gratias. - Posted by: Georgina Cielen (aquaintance) on: Jun 12, 2021

  • Dear Ciocia Jasia and family. We send our sincere condolences and hope that Donna Marie is resting in peace and in love. I had a few visits with her at St. Amant and thank Ciocia Jasia for introducing me to her. Ciocia's strength in resolve and her love for Donna Marie were apparent. That love and the care at St. Amant no doubt helped Donna Marie in her life. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family. Frank, Daniella and family. - Posted by: Frank Franczyk (Cousin) on: Jun 12, 2021
