Condolences & Memories (15 entries)

  • Werner was a quiet, gentle soul. We have known Werner and Maureen for over 28 years and they gave us their friendship since that day. Both of them greeted every one with a friendly hand shake and a few friendly words, each time they met you. It seemed like he never got angry at anybody, for any reason. We were welcomed at their front door. We are proud to call Werner and Maureen friends. Everybody will miss him. - Posted by: WERNER GEBEL (FRIEND) on: Jun 17, 2021

  • In our tribe, there are always a few who have trouble fitting in. They are the obscure ones, who would otherwise go unnoticed. Werner met all with an open hand and provided a greeting of humility and kindness that is difficult to overstate. You couldn't help but feel at home in his presence. His gentle approach made even the shyest of people feel a part of the fold. We kept in touch during this long period of isolation. We recently dreamt of the time when we would have our second vaccine and could meet again at Timmy's. Werner had a wonderful sense of humor. During our last conversation he said: "Doug, I love hearing about your adventures, if you have any other funny stories like that, make sure you call me". HIs passing came as a shock and is difficult to process. I will miss him terribly. My love goes out to his friends and family. I will never forget him. - Posted by: Doug Olshewski (Friend) on: Jun 13, 2021
