ALLAN JOHN WATT
May 21, 1947 - June 10, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Allan (Al), loving husband, father, brother, granddad and friend. He peacefully passed away after a hard fought battle with myasthenia gravis at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Al was known for his quick wit, legendary storytelling, and incredible work ethic. He loved the simple pleasures in life. Al completed his post secondary education as a Civil Technologist and ended a successful career as the Director of Facility Services at Seven Oaks General Hospital. After designing and building the new cottage, Al retired to his happy place with Marj in Grand Marais. This is where they spent many fun-filled years watching their family grow and creating memories with his beach family.
Al will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 53 years, Marj; children, Ali, Ryan (Aimee), Lori (Shaun); grandchildren, Owen, Kade, Lilah, Hector, Weston and Nora. Al also leaves to mourn his siblings, Janet, Bruce and Kathy along with their families; as well as his beach family. Al was predeceased by parents, Gordon Charles Watt and Violet Catherine Watt; brother Gordon, and sister Betty.
As per Al's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Myasthenia Gravis Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated (www.mgcanada.org).

  • Thinking of you Auntie Marj and family on your Celebration of Life day. Fond memories of Uncle Al - always the life of the party and so very welcoming. Bob loved meeting Al and hearing about the cottage construction, especially. He still tells every Australian who will listen about the insulation batts piled three high in the roof! We’re so sorry for your loss and hope your day is filled with love, support and beautiful memories. Love Catherine, Bob, Ava and Ben - Posted by: Catherine McClintock (Niece) on: Jul 17, 2021
