ALLISON RUTH KENDEL
July 22, 1963 June 14, 2021
Left to cherish Allison's memory is the love of her life, husband Darren Kendel, son Chad (Coral), grandsons, Cillian and Lowick, son Brennen (Jaime), as well as her mother Ruth Cook, brother Garth (Phyllis), sister-in-law Marjorie, nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Allison was born in Morris, Manitoba and later moved to Anola, attending Anola Elementary School and later Springfield Junior High and Springfield Collegiate in Oakbank. She followed in her father Carl's footsteps, spending most of her career helping to make a success of the family business, Anola Building Centre. Also like her dad, Allison was very present in the community, spending many hours volunteering with the Springfield Recreation Commission, Anola Community Club and Anola Enhancement project to name a few. She was a well known and eager participant in a wide variety of community programs.
Allison shared with her husband Darren, a love of music, camping, fishing, travel and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving friend, known as "Allie Cat" to many, she maintained close friendships with schoolmates over the years, making wonderful memories along the way. Her creativeness and free spirit flair were among her treasured personality traits. She will be greatly missed by them all.
Allison's life will be celebrated always, and once allowed, we will gather to comfort and reminisce with one another.
Donations in Allison's memory may be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
All are welcome to share memories and leave condolences by visiting Allison's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.ca

So very sad to hear of Allison’s passing. Although I didn’t really know Allison it is obvious from reading the previous condolences that she was a wonderful woman and a much loved daughter, wife, mother, sister and aunt. She will surely be missed by Aunt Ruth, her husband, her children and extended family. She will always be with you in your thoughts and all of the treasured time she spent with you. Rest In Peace Allison. Sincerely, Wendy Holmes - Posted by: Wendy Holmes (Cousin) on: Jun 25, 2021

Dear Allison, with your friendly spirit you were always smiling and ready to help, whether I was a customer looking for some paint, or as a co-worker needing some advise. Very to hear of your passing. May you rest in peace. My deepest sympathies go out to Darren, Chad, Brennen, Garth and their families. As well to Ruth and the staff at ABC. A big loss for all; family, friends, co-workers, customers, and community. - Posted by: Robbert Hilhorst (Customer, ex coworker) on: Jun 21, 2021

I met Allison when I got my first job at Federated Insurance. She was such a nice person and great friend. After she left Federated we stayed in touch for awhile and then I would randomly run into her somewhere in Transcona, always nice to get a little visit in. Have not seen her in years but my deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Sharon Stockes (Old co-worker) on: Jun 21, 2021

As residents of Anola, we are relative newcomers having moved out to the area 18 years ago. In all the years since, we witnessed Allison actively involved in, and often part of the organization of, a wide range of community events and fundraisers. Allison was a big part of making Anola the welcoming community we now call home. She will be dearly missed by many of us who were touched by her dedication. Our condolences to her families at home and at work. - Posted by: Sandi and Henry Hagenaars (Community Neighbours) on: Jun 21, 2021

Jack and I knew Allison through our many visits to the lumber store, when I went to town yesterday I saw the sign and my heart went into my throat, I was stunned and still it's hard to believe. She was the paint lady she always knew what would work best for my wall. I was going to bring in the grandchildren to meet her and pick out some colours to paint a mural on the garage door at the cabin. Now I have missed my chance to introduce her smiling face to the grandchildren and they have missed the chance to meet a truly unique and special person. Our hearts break for her most precious family. We will miss you Allison. R.I.P. Janice and Jack Graff - Posted by: Janice and Jack Graff (friend) on: Jun 20, 2021

Allison was an Anola fixture, in the best way possible. Quiet and unassuming - the most genuinely kind person. I’ve never seen her not working or helping in some way, other than once when we saw her and Darren in Bucerias, Mexico, and I almost didn’t recognize her because she was on the other side of the bar :) My mom and dad could count on her for absolutely anything, and that meant the world to them, and to us. Thinking of all her family, and sending so much love from ours ❤️ - Posted by: Darlene (Family friend) on: Jun 19, 2021

I will always remember Allison whenever I made my trek into Anola Building with help with our many Reno’s. Allison was always there to help me. My dogs loved visiting the store and sought out Allison for treats which she always had! I am very saddened by her loss and I send Darren and his family our condolences for our loss. - Posted by: Evelyn and Bruce Smirnos (Friend) on: Jun 19, 2021
