PHILIP (PHIL) DROHOMERESKI
November 5, 1941 – June 15, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Husband, Father and Papa, Phil, on June 15, 2021, with his beloved wife Lois by his side.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, his children; daughter Shannon (Michael), son Ryan (Shelly), grandchildren, Hunter, Jessie, Zander and Connor, sisters: Deanna, Eleanore (Randy), Victoria (Peter), sister in-law Donna, nieces and nephews.
Phil was predeceased by his sister Janet and brothers-in-law, John and Cec.
Dad and Mom enjoyed camping as well as bus trips across Canada and the US with family and friends. Dad enjoyed curling and bonspiels, also volunteering at the Brier and World Curling. One of the most memorable trips for the entire family was when Grandma and Papa took the grandkids to Disney World and the adults were allowed to go too.
Dad and Mom were members at St. Stephen's Anglican Church for over 45 years and in recent years members of St. Saviour's Anglican Church.
Special thanks to Dad's sister Deanna Pringle and Rev. Edmund Laldin for their help and support to both Mom and Dad.
The family will be forever grateful that our mom was able to provide loving care to our dad at home until his passing.
Due to Covid restrictions cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
Livestream on St. Saviour's Anglican Church Facebook Page (690 Munroe Ave., Winnipeg) and available for viewing on their You Tube channel after the service.

Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • I'll never forget the day Phil started work at our old highways shop on Midland Street. Black hair all shined up with that happy smile that never went away. We all sincerely loved this man so much. Ohh, the happy times we had in the Electrical Shop! True to his Ukrainian heritage he was a man of dedication, honesty, loyalty and trust. Go Rest High on that Mountain Uncle Phil. Your work on Earth is done. Rest In Peace my friend. Sincerest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Linden Johnson (friend/co-worker) on: Jul 05, 2021

  • Lois and family I am deeply saddened to hear of Phil’s passing. To myself and many others who had the pleasure to work with Phil over the years he was uncle Phil. We all knew To Phil family was everything and we were Phil’s work family. We would have done anything to help Phil as he would have done the same for us . Phil was genuine at heart and he shared every family milestone when asked. Many staff knew the children's accomplishments and wanted regular updates on their progress. We all knew that Rushing River was the best campground and never challenged this fact .Phil was a man we respected , admired and valued his friendship . We will miss him greatly but treasure the work memories for ever. Take care, Ken, McMahon & fellow coworkers from Highways - Posted by: Ken McMahon (Co-worker / friend) on: Jun 20, 2021

  • So saddened to hear of Phil's passing. As a co-worker of Phil's at the Department of Highways and Transportation it was evident to me that he was always looked up to as someone who would go out of his way to help anyone fix or repair equipment that came into the shop. He could handle everything from heavy equipment repairs to small engine work. Phil was your old-fashioned garage mechanic who could do it all. He was always in good humour and a true pleasure to work with. To Lois and the children and grandchildren my sincere condolences. - Posted by: David Oliver (Co-worker) on: Jun 19, 2021

  • Lois and the family, I am so sorry to hear about Phil. If it is any consolation he is now out of pain. He will be still looking out for you all, just from above instead. Derrick and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. xoxo (This applies to his sisters, and extended family also).
