DOUGLAS ROY LYONS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Roy Lyons on June 16, 2021, in Pinawa, MB.
Doug was born September 25, 1940 in Carberry, MB to Frank and Rose Lyons. While Doug did go on to leave the farm he grew up on, farming never left him; everyone who knew him, knew how much he loved his garden. Throughout his life, Doug stayed connected to his extended family, keeping in touch with cousins across the country. In 1988, Doug married Shelagh and they built a life together; Doug's family grew as he embraced her children and grandchildren as his own.
Doug was predeceased by his wife Shelagh, his parents, and brothers, Steve and Ron. He leaves behind to mourn his brother James (Hennie), stepdaughters, Janis, Kathy and Carolyn, his grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Sue and Maureen, and his large, close-knit family.
Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date, once we are able to gather together.

  • I was so sorry to hear about Doug. He and Shelagh were very close to our neighbor's, Bud and Alma and through them and also Ron and Maureen, we got to know them and thought the world of them. Doug is with Shelagh and the rest of his family now. He will be happy again. Heartfelt sympathy to the kids and grandkids. Karla and Shawn Elcock. - Posted by: Karla Elcock (Friend) on: Jun 19, 2021
