GEORGE ROGER JOSEPH BOUCHARD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Roger Joseph Bouchard at the age of 61 on June 7, 2021.
George was born on May 9, 1960 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Simone Therrien and Wilfred Bouchard. He attended school in Laurier, Manitoba. He then moved to the Okanagan to work with his brother André at the age of 18. He bought a logging truck and formed G. Bouchard Trucking Ltd. At 24, he moved to Mackenzie, BC where he hauled logs for about 11 years. He then moved to Williams Lake, BC where he bought a home and resided with his brother Albert. He started JB Holdings Ltd. which was a wood-waste grinding business.
His love for animals was a strong attribute. He owned horses, dogs and a cat. He liked fishing and golfing with his brothers and friends. His smile was infectious and he is lovingly remembered for that. He was quiet but a very kind and caring person. He was Mom's precious baby boy, loved by all especially his brothers and sisters. He was particularly close to sister Carol. He has a special place in the heart of all his nieces and nephews. He is missed, we are sad but he is in a better place.
He is survived by his mother Simone Bouchard who is 97 years old, siblings - Lilliane (Christian and Mona), André/Darlene (Gerald, Monique, Amber and Del), Lorraine (Candace, Sean and Cameron), Albert, Irene/Frank (David, Laurie, Brian and Kevin), Léonie/Devin (Nicole, Mélanie, and Kerry), Diane, and Carol/Ross (John and Lisa). George was predeceased by his father Wilfred Bouchard, his twin Joe Bouchard (at birth), his brother-in-law Neil McDonald and nephews, Jason and Rob.
George will be buried with his twin, Joe, in Laurier, MB near the family farm where he grew up.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The rest of the family would like to thank Carol, Albert and André for being there for George as loved ones, caregivers, and advocates to the end.
Funeral services will be live streamed on Facebook, on the page of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Williams Lake on Saturday, June 26, at 10:00 a.m. PST, 12:00 noon CST.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We were so sad to hear of George’s passing, I personally remember when George was born and the twin brother didn’t survive. Although I was young I remember the pain the family suffered. Gilbert and I offer our most sincere sympathies to all the family to Mom Simone and my childhood friend Irene and her family. 🥰 - Posted by: Gisele & Gilbert L'Heureux (Friends of the family) on: Jun 25, 2021
