FRANK SCHORTINGHUIS
June 11, 1935 - June 20, 2021

Suddenly, but peacefully, Frank passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, June 20. Frank is survived by his three sons, Grant of Saskatoon, Scott and Mike of Falcon Lake MB.
Frank was born and lived in Winnipeg for most of his life with several short periods in Northwestern Ontario and rural Manitoba while employed with the TD Bank. He was then employed with Olivetti Canada Ltd. as an office equipment and computer sales person.
Frank loved the Whiteshell Provincial Park, having lived there as a boy and later as a cottage owner at Falcon Lake.
For many years he was an active member of Parents without Partners and maintained a close friendship with many past members of that organization, particularly the Bridge players, up until his death.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frank's favourite charity, the Salvation Army of Manitoba.
Respecting Frank's wishes, cremation has already taken place and due to Covid restrictions, a private service will take place at a later date.

  • Dear Scott, Mike and Grant I am very sorry to read about the loss of your father. I know you were all a priority in his life. I know he was a quiet man, but, I am sure he loved you and did everything he could to bring you up well. I am sure he was proud with the result. Please remember the good times with your dad and hopefully chuckle about some crazy story or event. The loss will ease over time. Stay safe guys. • So so sorry to hear of this news. Many memories of “uncle” Frank and stories from our Dad Barry of him and Frank who retained a good friendship since grade 3 . I talked to him a few months back while I was visiting at dads and I’m sorry they didn’t get one last in person visit together. He will be missed. Our Condolences to Grant, Scott and Mike from the Long family. - Posted by: Joleen LeSage (Long) (Family friend) on: Jun 28, 2021
