JOHN (JD) DONALD GEORGE SMITH

With deep sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of John "JD" Donald George Smith; baby, son, brother, uncle, dad, nephew, cousin and best friend. JD's departure to the spirit world was on June 18, 2021.
JD leaves to mourn and forever broken hearted his parents, Richard and Marlene; his siblings, Rolene (Dallas), Richard Jr., Angel (Matt) and Desmond, his children, Shanti, Sveah and Zaiden, his special nieces, Keena and Kristina whom he grew up with and lived with at Mom's along with Johnny, Dominick and Dontay. He was predeceased by grandparents, John and Dorothy Meade and Donald and Pearl Smith, uncles, Raymond, Rusty and Richard; aunts, Eileen, Helena, Thelma, Shirley, Debbie, Della, Martina and Evelyn; and cousin Claudette.
JD was born in Winnipeg and lived in Manigotagan, Selkirk, Hollow Water and Pine Falls, MB. Everyone loved JD due to his caring nature, respectfulness and sense of humour. JD made friends wherever he went. JD was the baby of our family who got away with everything. He was always walking around town wandering somewhere. Sometimes he was here and sometimes he was gone. If you found Desmond you found JD. The two brothers were never far apart. JD never asked for anything, if he didn't have it he went without. JD always had a broken heart after losing his Grandma Meade where he lived most of the time as a child. Grandma Meade always had JD, Kody, Sara, Brett, Peter and Steven sleeping on the living room floor.
JD attended Egg Lake School in September 2013, where his principal couldn't say enough good things about him. In school he demonstrated strong capabilities in both trade work (carpentry and mechanics) and class work (math, writing, etc.) and worked diligently on all tasks assigned to him. He received certificates for Engaged Learners, Intro to Northern Trades, Firefighter Pre-Cadet Training Program. In the summer of 2020 he went to work with sister Rolene in Snow Lake with construction for highways. He loved travelling around and meeting new people. JD loved fishing, camping, and watching movies. He always had movie quotes making people laugh.
Rest in Peace our baby boy. You will always be in our hearts. We will be taking him home to 192 Arnold Drive, Hollow Water for wake service from June 25 to June 28, 2021.
We would like to thank uncle Norman Meade for officiating, his special friends, Stuart, Aaron, Dean, Keith, Evan and Manny "Mandawg".
