ROGER (JACOB) NOVAK
JULY 5, 1952 – JUNE 26, 2021

Roger Novak, aged 68 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.
Roger was born to Jacob and Helen Novak on July 5, 1952, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
He leaves to mourn his sister Irene and her family, two brothers: Dennis (Steffie) and Norman (Adine) and their families; as well as many friends and extended family.
Roger attended school in Grunthal until grade 11 and found employment with Wilson Auto Electric in 1969 where he worked for 40 years. He retired and lived at the homestead in Sarto, MB.
He loved his Toyota, Harley Davidson, Mustang and Bronco truck. He liked music and played guitar with a band called "The Cracked Egg Shell" and "Royal Polka Kings" for many years; he also enjoyed gardening and visits from friends and family.
Roger went on a few trips with his buddies to Hawaii and Mexico. He apparently was a ball of fire in his younger years.
A few years back, Roger became ill and moved to Greendale Estates in Grunthal, where he made new smoking friends. He had visits from family and friends until Covid-19 and restrictions came into effect, then there were many phone calls.
A big bouquet of thanks to the nurses and doctors at the St. Boniface Hospital and the staff at Greendale Estates. Roger was looked after with great care and compassion.
A come and go viewing will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at the Sarto Cemetery, Sarto.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michaels Ukranian Catholic Church, Sarto, Att. Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.

  • We worked for many years with Roger at Wilson's Auto back in the early 70s. He used to hang out at our place and often came to the lake with us. Haven't seen him in many years but he will always be fondly remembered. - Posted by: Doug and Karen Iwanoczko (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2021

  • Very sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. I worked with Roger for many years at Wilson and have fond memories of him. Here’s hoping, Roger, that they have ‘Toonie Tuesdays’ where you are now and you can continue to enjoy your chicken licked clean to the bone! • My Dear friend Roger, you are riding and walking along with the best now, our Lord Jesus Christ. We absolutely enjoyed each others company whether on the Harleys or just having fun. We worked together for 12 years at Wilson Auto Elec with our Wilson Electric family, and what a great group it was. You could not find a better and kinder man than Roger. You will always be part of my memories and my heart and so thankful for our great times together. You had your time on earth as we both have, we shall meet again in heaven and venture again on our happy trails. Love you brother Roger. - Posted by: Allan Kropelnicki (Friend ) on: Jun 30, 2021
