He will be greatly missed by his wife Hildegard; children, Rayna (Pavel Brzak) and Marcia (Michael Thomaschewski); and grandchildren, Nick, Daniel, Nathan, Kira and Myah.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. A recording of the service is at www.friendsfs.ca. A Celebration of Life will be held when COVID restrictions allow.
Henry was just a small boy when he left Ukraine and travelled to Canada via Paraguay. He worked for Mauring Electric before becoming a founding partner of the electrical contracting firm Tri-Star Electric Co. Ltd.
He held leadership positions in the Manitoba Electrical League and was involved with many organizations: Fishing Fracus, Duck's Unlimited, Pan-Am Games, Pine Ridge Golf Club's Men's League, his hunting buddies, and the "Young Marrieds" church groups at Central Mennonite Brethren and New Hope Community Church. He enjoyed short winter trips to sunny destinations and summer weekends at the lake in a cabin built with help from friends and his brothers.
He lived with Parkinson's for 20 years, addressing the many challenges as they came up. He was able to live in his own home until a couple of weeks ago; this was something he was very grateful for. We thank the many who showed him consideration and support.
