VICTORIA FAYE GODIN
January 14, 1956 - June 27, 2021
Victoria was predeceased by her father Gabriel Thomas Sayies, sisters, Mary-Jane, Madeline, and daughter Jamie Lynn Godin. The light of her life will continue to shine in her husband Lance, and children, Lana, Mandy (Mike), Brandy (Andrew). She cherished each one of her grandchildren, Cody, Cole, Cora, Thomas, Greyson, Brawley, Ayden, Kelsea and Adalynn. Victoria also leaves behind her mother Catherine Rosie Sayies (Cook), sisters, Shirley, Ruth (Seigfried), brothers, Allen and Gabriel, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Victoria was born in Lynn Lake, MB on January 14, 1956 to Gabriel and Catherine Sayies. She moved to Leaf Rapids at the age of 16 to work at the hotel in the booming new mining community. She met and married the love of her life Lance in 1974 and had their first daughter a year later. In 1978 they moved around between The Pas and Winnipeg so they could attend courses to secure a better future. They later returned to Leaf Rapids, where they continued building their lives together and growing their family, welcoming three additional daughters. They remained residents of Leaf Rapids until the closure of the HBMS in 2002. Victoria and Lance moved to Thompson, MB, where they continued working until they retired 2019. They set their final roots in Winnipeg, MB where they could enjoy their retirement years together.
Victoria will be remembered for her generous heart and contagious smile that could light up a room. She has left a legacy of love, values and fond memories behind for all who knew her. She was truly an amazing soul who was devoted to taking care of others with compassion and love. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was something very precious to her and she treasured every moment.
We will remember her for her love she blessed us with. The memories we created with her. The lessons she taught us. The smile she shared with us and the strength she instilled in us.
Due to COVID restrictions, a small family viewing will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, 2021. A Celebration of Life will also take place at a later date.
Our family would like to thank the hardworking staff at the ICU at the Grace Hospital and Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and care.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)
Victoria taught me how to weave, and became my person for any silly question, even when I found an abandoned loom and needed help restringing it. She sat with me, knocking all the dust out of the abandoned yarn and helped me restring all of it. I learned so much from her and will always remember her. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. - Posted by: Valdine Alycia (Student ) on: Jul 07, 2021
When thinking about Vickie, I remember how gracious, kind and welcoming she was when visiting her home in Thompson. She spread fun and laughter throughout her family. I remember spending an afternoon laughing and giggling with her and her daughters as the girls spent an afternoon pulling out their high school graduation gowns, trying each other's on, and entertaining us with their antics. How she loved it all. Her home was a place where friends and family loved to gather, whether to sing karaoke, play games or just be together. She created space where people loved to be. Her heart was huge in love and kindness and generosity. My heart goes out to you Lance, and your beautiful family Barb Linklater - Posted by: Barbara Linklater (Family friend) on: Jul 03, 2021
